Shared movement takes place on a spectrum between fighting and collaborating. At times acroyoga looks like martial arts, other times like one person juggling another and in blissful moments it becomes a dance of shared intention. In this workshop Emily Baxter and Jeppe Skovgaard guide you into the power and potential of a well-calibrated shared intention and using exactly that to bring you places, that you have never been before.

The all-around workshop is for everybody who would like smooth introduction to the basic movements in the parkour world. It is especially suited for beginners. This workshop will satisfy the heart of curious and playful people, and is a great start-up.

This workshop will focus on integrating moving in our concrete environment, but with a meditative focus. Movements will be slow and simple, and thus the emphasis will be awareness and internal bodily sensations.
Join up for an in-depth session to finish of this years festival!

Ground and space, for efficient movement

In this lecture you will explore how to make optimal use of your ground and space in movement. Understanding and applying the above concepts will help you find a more easeful and natural movement in every discipline. We will take the time to familiarize with these basic principals and will then move towards the explorative, practical part. You will use embodiment exercises to to awaken your senses and broadening your perception.

Be the managing director of Move for 90 minutes. What would you do? Where is Move heading if you were about to lead the Move-ship?

In this lecture you’ll be guided trough a number of questions and small drills where we’re going to lay down the a set of visions for the next five year of Move Copenhagen.

Entry Level: It’s said that walking is just the act of falling and catching yourself with every step. Here we will learn how to walk forward with intention, and let our feet tell us where to go. Each step becomes a focused transition of weight, as we glide our feet forward into faster, smoother, and better-controlled body positions. Learn strength and confidence in your feet, and let your body move with ease and purpose.

Entry Level: Who ever said slackline was just one person at a time? This workshop will provide you with a variety of ways to enjoy the slackline experience with one partner or even more! Having the help of friend is a great way to begin your journey into slackline. We will challenge you to bounce, jump, catch and throw – just grab a partner and go! Now it’s partner playtime.

Entry Level: This workshop will introduce to you an approach to working with your body posture when slacklining. Body posture is fundamental for any slackliner and we will therefore make you think about and focus on the way you move and use your body on a slackline. At the same time the workshop will also provide a playful experience on how you posture influences your style of walking. A perfect stepping stone for people looking to advance their slackline or just getting into it.

Experienced: Walking is not simply placing one foot in front of another. In this workshop we will explore many of the different ways in which one can cross the line. How you walk is the basis of you slackline practise, but something that few purposely practise. With this class you will explore a number of different styles of walking and the focus of the class will solely be on your feet!

Experienced: Something happened a few years ago, it was like another dimension was added to slackline. Longline was suddenly not just the art of walking ever longer lines, but bouncing, surfing and static tricks entered the scene to revolutionize longlining. This is where this workshop picks up, and it will develop our thoughts of what a longline is and what is possible on one. We will develop our understanding of all the abovementioned and also dive into mounting, exposure and complex surfing. Longline tricks are for everyone – because a longline is what you decide is a long line.

Experienced: In slackline we have a tendency to focus quite a lot of attention to our feet. What if we turned it all upside down? Well then we would get the shoulderstand. A shoulderstand is like the name implies the art of finding our balance on the line with our shoulder. This workshop will focus on how to get started with the shoulderstand, different ways to mount into it and if you already master the standing, then different variations and tricks you can do, while upside down.

Waterlining is, as the name so elegantly reveals, the perfect combination of the art of slackline and the medium of water. By walking above the water an element of consequence is added to slackline – you cannot simply stand down from the line if you lose your balance. But you are also allowed the pleasure of exiting the line in a fashion that would be, if not impossible, then highly painful if you were to do it on the ground. Waterlining is also marvelous training for highlining or if you wish to learn to catch the line. So bring your swimwear and let’s get to it!

Highline is more than just the act of crossing the highline itself. When you have conquered your initial fears on the highline, it becomes time to develop your skills. Like a regular slackline, a highline has much more to offer then simply walking, and that will be the domain of this workshop. We will go into exposure, bounce, play with the sight, surf and much more. So be prepared to take a leash fall or two and to be challenged on your highline abilities. A solid highline foundation is required for this workshop.

Let us be frank, highlining is not for everyone. You will have to fight thousands of years of evolution that tells you to get down and into safety. However, this is the whole point – take control of yourself and take the step. Highline is a unique experience and we are glad to be able to offer it here at Move. This workshop will introduce you to the fundamentals of highline and help you take the first steps or become comfortable in what you already know. OBS! You must be able to comfortably walk a slackline to sign up for this workshop and preferably know how to climb a leash.

Therefore we would like to make your journey into highlining a little easier and a little more smooth. We’ll guide you through some practical matter and talk about why we’re here at all.

And then you’ll get moving for the first time with all of the movers participating at Move17.

In this community driven festival we help each other. Why?
To support the ideal that we are better of together then alone, to build bridges instead of wall.

At this final grand gathering everyone will clean up, pack up and save the day.
We have done this every year and it normally take less then 90 minutes before everything is done.

After this you can slowly pack up your tent and hug your nabo for being a new friend.

The art of transition in Thai Yoga Massage” In the workshop Pau and Till want to bring a playful angle to the art of transition, and how the movement can be easy and fluid also, or specially having an other person involved. Thai Massage is sometime called the “Sacred Dance” and to make it a dance it needs that the passive body of the receiver and the active body of the giver become a union. If the movement becomes beautiful from the outside, the potential that it feels healing from the inside is given. The parts of the body we will focus on, are the areas which accumulates tension threw movement. This will be the hip and lower back, and also the shoulder and arms.

Falling Upwards

Aikido, acrobatics, and contact improvisation merge as we explore the creative science of moving floorward. By erasing the concept of falling, and replacing it with floorward movement, we make the floor our ally, and expand our directional capacity. After building a foundation, we begin falling upward! Discover open and friendly skies through a variety of structures & patterns that allow us to move through a full range of planes, tempos, and physical scenarios.

DANCING YOLATES! Pulse, heat, an efficient metabolism, and sheer joy of life all characterize Dancing Yolates.

When was the last time you jumped around like a tiny rubber ball not being able to stop?

Find a fun way back to the dancing child inside you with this form of exercise.

We meet in deep gratitude for mother earth. We sing to her. We move our bodies in accordance to the elements which constitute her being; earth, water, fire, air and ether… We come together as brothers and sisters in gratitude for the abundance of our lives, and let this practise be an embodied expression of that earth prayer. Sacred sounds by Louise Holst Dissing

Wutao is a contemporary French movement art born from the fusion of Qi Gong, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Yoga, dance, etc. The art of Wutao is based on building awareness of the primordial undulatory movement of the spine. This wave gets extended and amplified through the entire body, liberating the natural spirals that exist in all of our movements. As we breathe into this practice, Wutao becomes a dance, a physical calligraphy, in which deeper energetic and artistic pathways are revealed.

Entry Level: Without a solid foundation, any real advancement might prove difficult. Therefore the first thing we must do is to build this foundation. The focus of this workshop will therefore be on introducing the fundamentals of slackline and what to always bear in mind when slacklining. We will go through all the basics – how to walk, balance and breathe, and how to help one another. This workshop will surely build the foundation for a bright future on the slackline.

Entry Level: Sometimes you gotta run before you can walk. Even if you don’t feel comfortable on a slackline you are invited to dive into the world of tricks on the slackline. By turning to the tricks we will learn and explore some of the fundamentals of slackline from a different approach than normal. Tricks on a slackline are essentially about exploring what is possible and about being creative on the line, and you can do this no matter your level. So join us and let us explore the possibilities of the slackline.

Reshape your definition of balance by combining the basics of yoga on a slackline & on another person. Come see what it is like to play with your own & someone else’s energy in a refreshing, new way. We will cover basics of the slackasana series including standing, kneeling, sitting, arm balancing, lying down & getting upside down on the line. This approach is a great way to improve your overall strength & balance for any practice!

Modifications for all levels–absolute beginners welcome and if you are already playing with these positions learn variations and drills that lead to smooth transitions between positions.

Experienced: Whenever you need to transfer from one type of slacklining to another, you need to get back to the basics, the foundation of your slacklining. This is what we aim to explore during this workshop. As a more skilled slackliner, we will help you to overcome the barrier of simply knowing what to do and help you feel and become aware of what you are actually doing – a difference that might not prove so easy to overcome as you might think. By doing this and making you aware, you will be able to much take your hard earned skills and use them in a variety of situations.

Experienced: One of the most beneficial aspects of slacklining is the ability to focus and stay focussed even when challenged. And one of the best places to develop and practice this is on the longline. By challenging yourself to walk longer you also challenge your ability to stay focussed and maintain control over your mind and body. This workshop will help you with concrete steps to improve this ability and guide you on how to master ever longer lines. While we cannot provide you with the will to manage the long lines, we can give you the technique needed, the rest you have to take care of yourself!

Experienced: If you are looking to get into the art of loose lines, this is the place to go. Rodeoline is becoming the foundation of a new school slackliner and is the perfect travel mate. We will work with different techniques to learning rodeo and if you already master the fundamentals we will focus a great deal on getting your rodeosurf off to a good start and exploring the different dynamics of such a loose line. So find your calmness and join us for a loose session with without no tension involved.

Waterlining is, as the name so elegantly reveals, the perfect combination of the art of slackline and the medium of water. In this way, the body becomes strong and flexible while you are also working with yourself on a deeper level. Living Yolates is also breaking the rules or escaping the idea of a set class structure. By mixing yoga, pilates and dance the classes become influenced by the moment and have a great sense of freedom. The exercise meets you where you are in a functional and appropriate manner. It is fundamental in Living Yolates to provide a safe space to get more in touch with yourself and learn how to listen to your body. It needs to feel right.

Living Yolates is for all who want to find a path to calmness, inner strength, self-love, and at the same time work on the body posture and get long lean muscles. The entire body gets strengthened during class. Afterwards, you perhaps feel more uplifted, positive, and free. Your body will feel stronger and less burdened by what ever could hold you down. By sensing this feeling in your own body, your mind will also expand and automatically let go of negativity. Living Yolates gives clarity to your physical and mental flow.

Entry Level: In this workshop we will work with body posture when slacklining. Body posture is fundamental for any slackliner and we will therefore make you focus on the way you move on the line. You will see how your posture influences your style of walking. A perfect stepping stone for people looking to advance their slackline skills or for those just getting into the sport.

Entry Level: Without a solid foundation, any real advancement might prove difficult. Therefore the first thing we must do is to build this foundation. The focus of this workshop will therefore be on introducing the fundamentals of slackline and what to always bear in mind when slacklining. We will go through all the basics, from how to walk, balance, breathe, focus points and how to help one another. This workshop will surely build the foundation for a bright future in slackline.

Experienced: That moment when it feels like you are about to leave the line and you become weightless, almost defying gravity – it’s priceless. A well executed bounce is the perfect combination of power, grace and timing. Whether the bounce is on a trickline, longline, or regular slackline, the same principles apply, and it is these principles that we will explore during this workshop. Apart from tricklining we will also work with different variations of the bounce on other lines, such as the push, the surf and maybe – just maybe you will learn to fly.

Experienced: There are few poses that are as beautiful as a perfect lotus move. The static tricks require strength and grace, and when you perfect them, they are the go-to tricks when you are just enjoying yourself in the park on a short line, the longline or on high above on the highline. When we have explored the variety of poses flow will become the theme. We will work on how to create a flow consisting solely of these and on how to transition from one to the other.
